Not much to say about this one. Take a look.
Joel Carlson watched as a Metro Transit bus went through the crossing — and came within inches of being hit by a speeding light rail train.
It happened Saturday afternoon as a Metro Transit bus was turning onto 54th Street at Minnehaha Avenue.
The driver appeared to ignore the signal and attempted to cross the tracks ahead of the approaching train. The crossing guard came down and hit the bus, which stopped before entering the tracks of the southbound train.
Metro Transit acknowledged the incident but declined comment.
“As you can imagine, the safety of our customers is a key concern and our number one priority. Metro Transit is aware of the incident and management and safety personnel from both bus and rail operations are conducting an investigation,” said Bruce Howard of Metro Transit. “Metro Transit provides bus operators with extensive rail-crossing training and we intend to learn more about what happened in this incident. This is as much information as we have at this time.”

Cool video, that was a close one. Seems kind of appropriate that “Staying Alive” is playing in the background…
