bodyodorI think everybody smelt something each time they are in close contact with another person in a crowded space. A good example would be when you are travelling in the subway or the bus. The smell that I get today inside the bus was so unpleasant that I start to wonder what it is actually? Maybe they smell me too but I don’t smell myself?

I googled on body odor and found out that actually these kinds of smell comes from the smell of bacteria growing on the body! These bacteria multiply in the presence of sweat, but sweat itself is almost completely odorless.

So, during winter, the when people sweat inside the thick winter clothing, the smell of bacteria growing can’t be avoided. But here is some good solutions that I found online which I would like to share!

  • Steam baths or sauna frequently helps reducing body odor.
  • Bathing frequently.
  • Clothing. Loose clothes let the body breathe and perspiration escapes despite becoming a breeding ground for bacteria. Fabrics are important too! Synthetic fabrics for shoes and clothes don’t allow the body to breathe. Use natural fabrics! Wash clothes often!
  • Diet. Stuffs like meat, onions, garlic, spices, coffee and alcohol could lead to body odor. Many people don’t realize they have general body odor because they have become accustomed to it. Tell somebody close to do a “smell test”
  • Of course, other than that you can use perfume, after shaves, but if you really have a bad body odor, it is useless to just cover the smell with another strong smell. Go nature and cleanse your body!
  • Even thou maybe you would think that you are smell-less but it is important to maintain a free from smell condition. If everybody pay a little bit of attention to this, commuting would be way more pleasant.
