Massachusette Woman gives birth at NYC Port Authority
A Massachusetts woman traveling to Oklahoma City with her three young children has given birth to a fourth child during rush hour at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.
The Authority says 32-year-old Cheryl Peterson of Somerville, Mass., alerted officials at the midtown terminal she was going into labor during her layover Tuesday.
Six police officers and emergency medical technicians rushed to help Peterson, who was nine months pregnant. The Port Authority says the woman was preparing to go to an ambulance when she told them, “The baby’s coming out right now.”
A spokesman says the baby girl was delivered about 5:52 p.m. near Gate 24 in the south wing.
Cheryl is doing well at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

It’s great that nothing bad had happened to the woman, and especially the baby.

That’s so cool! I think there were some movies based on stories like that. I wonder whether the baby will get a special fare for traveling from the bus terminal or not since he was born there.. =)

I got a feeling that they were offered a ride for free.

yea.. she would have know that.. but i guess things happen and it is a bus terminal, so actually nobody would pay much attention to her.. it would be a different story if she is going oversea on a flight.
