Mind the Gap
Current Mood:
Alarmed
And you thought you only had to watch your step on the LIRR.
I was getting of the Brooklyn bound R train at the back of 14th street, when my feet almost slipped between.
I just had to take the photo.
Can you imagine that?
What if someone with a little kid happen to rush out here?
Dangerous consequences.

I remember a few months ago on the B train–I was on my way to work during rush hour and they was this lady (on the heavier side)rushing to on get on when she slipped and fell into a gap of similar size. Her entire lower body was suck!!! And no one, except for me rushed to her aide…I tried my best to pull her out–but she wasn’t budging. Finally, she manage to get herself out. But not before the train doors were closing on her!!!! Aren’t the conducters supposed to check to see if anything is in the doorway before closing? HELLO–THERE WAS A BODY FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! So when you hear or see stories on the news about people completely falling through gaps it’s not impossible at all.

I think it is the way they build the station. Maybe the station is in a curve?
