There will be no weekday express service on the No. 7 line for more than a month, officials announced Tuesday, a move that will impact about 400,000 daily riders.
From Jan. 14 to Feb. 29, all weekday trains on the line will run on the local track as NYC Transit installs new signaling and track switches, the agency said. And for up to five weekends, starting Saturday, there will be no service at all between the Woodside/61st St. station in Queens and the end of the line in Flushing, Queens.
During the total shutdowns, the Long Island Rail Road will provide free shuttle trains. NYC Transit also will run local and express buses to fill the gaps, officials said.
