The things commuters do…
Current Mood:
Angry
Everyday without fail, at 34th Street, Herald Square—the 6:00 rush hour commuters run for the train as though there isn’t one directly behind. Some people stumble, some fall and the others are so rude—they push people out the way for the train. They have one thing on their mind—I have to get on this train, I have to get on this train.
Once they are on the train that is already full, they elbow you in the head or stomach and don’t even say “I’m sorry or excuse me”. Maybe I’m asking for too much. This is New York…
But anyway, what really baffles me is people risk their lives just to make sure they get on. Today I saw someone stick his head in as the doors were closing. I looked at him and shooked my head in disbelieve. Why on earth would you stick a body part to keep the train doors open much less you neck/head? Then the red lights come on and immediately after, the conductor makes and announcement “Please stand clear of the closing doors” (I think that’s what they say). At this point, you have angry passengers…then comes the looks and stares they give you because now you’ve made them late for their destination. Now tell me…was it really worth it?
